Yeshiyahu (Isaiah) 54:1—55:5
1Sing out, O barren one, who has not given birth, breakdown into glad song and be jubilant. O One who had no labor pains, for the children of the desolate Jerusalem outnumber the children of the inhabited city, said HaShem. 2Broaden the place of your tent and stretched out the curtains of your dwellings, stint not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your pegs. 3For southward and northward you shall spread out mightily, your offspring will inherit nations, and they will settle desolate cities. 4Fear not, for you will not be shamed, do not feel humiliated for you will not be mortified; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the mortification of your widowhood you will remember no more. 5For your Master is your Maker—thus HaShem, Master of Legions is His Name; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Yisra’el—G-d of all the world shall He be called. 6For like a wife who had been forsaken and of melancholy spirit shall HaShem have called you, and like a wife of one’s youth who had become despised—said your G-d. 7For but a brief moment have I forsaken you and with abundant mercy shall I gather you in. 8With a slight wrath have I concealed my countenance from you for a moment, but with eternal kindness shall I show you mercy, said your Redeemer, HaShem.
9For like the waters of Noah shall this be to Me: As I have this sworn never again to pass the waters of Noah over the Earth, so have I sworn not to be wrathful with you or rebuke you. 10For the mountains may be moved and the hills may falter, but my kindness shall not be removed from you and My covenant of peace shall not falter, says the One Who showed you mercy, HaShem.
11O afflicted, storm-tossed, unconsoled one, behold! I shall lay your floor stones upon pearls and make your foundation of sapphires. 12I shall make your sun windows of rubies in your gates of garnets, and your entire boundary of precious stones. 13All your children will be students of HaShem, and abundant will be your children’s peace. 14Establish yourself through righteousness, distance yourself from oppression for you need not fear it, and from panic for it will not come near you. 15One need fear indeed if he has nothing from Me; whoever aggressively opposes you will fall because of you.
16Behold! I have created the smith who blows on a charcoal flame and withdrawals a tool for his labor, and I have created the destroyer to ruin. 17Any weapons sharpened against you shall not succeed, and any tongue that shall rise against you in judgment shall you condemn; this is a heritage of the servants of HaShem, and their righteousness is from Me, the words of HaShem.
1Ho, everyone who is thirsty, go to the water, even one who has no money; go buy and eat, go and buy without money, and without barter wine and milk. 2Why do you weigh money for that which is not bread and fruit of your toil for that which does not satisfy? Listen well to Me and eat what is good, and let your soul delight in abundance. 3Incline your ear and come to Me, listen and your soul will rejuvenate; I shall seal an eternal covenant with you, the enduring kindness promised David. 4Behold! I have appointed him a witness to the regimes, a prince and a commander to the regimes. 5Behold! a nation that you did not know will you call, and a nation that knew you not will run to you, for the sake of HaShem, your G-d, the Holy One of Yisra’el:, for He has glorified you!
